Everyone is talking about the Bear twins.

Hey and Whoa Bear are the first bear twins that their town has ever seen. No matter what they do, people take notice. But while the Bear twins look different -- quite ursine, really -- they love and learn like all kids do. We hope that you'll welcome them into your life.

Hey Bear, Whoa Bear, and Whoa Bear's Reading Woes

When Whoa Bear falls behind in reading, he feels embarrassed, especially as compared to his twin sister, Hey. Sometimes being a twin means being compared unfavorably. As the Bear twins show, though, sometimes twins support each other in ways that nobody else can.

About the Author

Jody Schechter offers the best of what she knows to children and their parents through Hey Bear, Whoa Bear Books. The idea for "Whoa Bear's Reading Woes" came to her when her pregnant-with-twins sister expressed concern about her children being measured against one another. Jody wrote that book to address differences in learning amongst children; and especially between twins. She plans to write and illustrate more stories for her niece and nephew, and to offer them to anyone who wants to teach a child they love something important and true.

Jody holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in computational science from Harvard University. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
